Billy Jack Hackett

Goodlettsville, TN

Billy (Jack) Hackett went to his eternal heavenly home on October 12, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Lee (McCauley) Hackett and Claud Cavit Hackett; two brothers, Hunter Perry Hackett and Claud Cavit Hackett, Jr. and one sister, Mary Hackett Weissmiller.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Linda Sue Martin Hackett, two sons, Colonel (Retired) Jeffrey Scott Hackett and his wife, Ozelle; Shelly Ryan Hackett and his wife Liz; five grandchildren, Jackson, Graham, Bella, Robbie, and Krista and four greatgrandchildren, Theo, Remy, Shep and Holden.
Jack was born in Gainsboro, TN where he spent his younger years. The family moved to Nashville when Jack was in his teens, where he graduated from East High School in 1958. He and Linda married on July 27, 1961, and began a strong marriage and companionship filled with love, laughter and many adventures and friendships.
Jack served in the United States Army for two years and was stationed in Fort Lewis, WA where he climbed Mount Rainer, reaching the summit twice. He worked 25 years for National Cash Register Cooperation then started his own business, Surplus Equipment Exchange for the following 25 years.
Jack and Linda attended Madison Church of Christ where Jack became a deacon. They were foster parents and house parents at the Madison Church of Christ for several years.
They built a lovely home on a hill and 10 acres where they have lived for 42 years, their home was always a welcoming place for all!
Jack was a humble man, a faithful husband, wonderful father, grandfather, and friend whose life made a huge impact on all he encountered. He did not boast or brag about his many accomplishments, his example showed his character, his love of his God, Country, Wife, Family and Friends.
Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Visitation with the family will be held from 4PM - 7PM, Tuesday, October 17, 2023, and from 10AM - 11AM, Wednesday, October 18, 2023 followed by Funeral Services at 11AM at Madison Church of Christ, 106, Gallatin Pk. N, Madison, TN 37115, officiated by Dr. Russ Corley. Interment will follow at 3PM at the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery, 871 Jennings Creek Hwy., Gainesboro, TN 38562.
