Charles McGee

January 1, 1923 — January 28, 2013

McGEE, Charles Thurman "Molly" passed away in Nashville, TN on January, 28th at the age of 89. Charles shared a love affair with his wife Imogene Hosmer McGee for an amazing 64 years. Never once did they find sleep with unresolved anger and this resulted in a life-long faithfulness that serves as a model for our marriages today. Charles is lovingly remembered by Imogene, daughters Wanda Bishop (Robert) and Corlis McGee, grandson's Chris Bishop (Jayne) & Brent Bishop (Krissy), and great-grandchildren Davis & Kate Bishop. Charles was born in Maplesville, Alabama on May 7, 1923. He retired 6 times from natural gas installation leadership positions, as his gas line expertise was highly sought after almost as much as his entertaining personality. Quite simply, he was "one of the guys" and his fellow co-workers truly enjoyed sharing their work day with "Molly." Charles enjoyed spending time in God's most marvelous creations, such as Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains. His resourcefulness was exhibited through his ability to build or repair anything with a hammer, pocket knife and/or WD-40. His passion was his family… he understood that slow roasted on a grill, with a great BBQ sauce could bring family together from miles around to indulge in his grilling cuisine. A private family service was held on January 31. The memorial service will be held on February 23 at 10 am at Hermitage Church of the Nazarene, 4151 Saundersville Rd., Old Hickory, TN 37138 with Rev. Howard Plummer officiating. A reception will take place immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charles and Jean McGee Scholarship at Trevecca Nazarene University, 333 Murfreesboro Road, Nashville, TN 37210.
