Frank Kurzynske

KURZYNSKE, Frank died October 8, 2011 at his home. Mr. Kurzyske was born in Fond du Lac, Wiscousin, the oldest child of Frank and Viola Kurzysnke. Mr. Kurzynske was educated by the Fond du Lac public school system, the United States Army Air Corps, Texas A&M, Tennessee Tech, Kansas State University, and sixty-three years of marriage to his beloved wife Edna. They were the parents of five sons, grandparents to nine girls and three boys, great-grand parents to three girls and eight boys. Mr. Kurzynske was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Geraldine, a brother James, a son Jon Kevin (Julie) and his wife Edna. He is survived by sons Robert (Mary), F. Richard (Janet), Mark (Teresa), and E. Todd (Melody). Mr. Kurzynske was a member of the Nashville First Seventh-Day Adventist church and previously active in Boy Scouts and Pathfinders. He worked for Nashville Bridge Company, AVCO Aviation and EC Horn Engineers before starting his own Consulting Engineering office in 1957. He retired from active practice in 2000. He was a member and held various offices of the City Salesmen Club, Downtown Kiwanis Club, Torch Club, Harbor Island Yacht Club, ASHRAE, Tennessee Professional Engineers, and the Construction Specification Institute. Mr. Kurzynske enjoyed working in his yard, doing water color and pen/ink sketches, sailing and writing adventure articles about his sailing experiences. Mr. and Mrs. Kurzunske visited over fifty different countries and all 50 United States. Visitation with the family will be Monday 6-8 p.m. at Madison Funeral Home. Graveside service at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family requests donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
