George Michael Smith Jr

George Michael “Mike” Smith Jr passed away peacefully in his home in Hendersonville, TN on September 5, 2022. He was born on February 8, 1936. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sadie Roth and George M Smith; sister, Patricia Smith McCracken; and special Aunt Sadie Smith. He leaves behind the love of his life, Beverly Smith, of 59 years. He is survived by his two children, Jennifer (Chris) Glasgow and Kevin (Nancy) Smith; 5 grandchildren, Katelyn Conviser, Kenzie Glasgow, Kurt Glasgow (fiancé Cassie Theriot), Brooke (Matt) Davenport, Lindsey (Michael) Binkley; two great-grandchildren, Willa Binkley and Asher Theriot; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Mike graduated from St Joseph Prep in Bardstown, KY, and then went on to study at Middle Tennessee State University. For many years, Mike had his own insurance company. He was a devoted Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus. A special thanks to John Brancato (boyfriend of Kenzie) who was always willing to go the extra mile to help during this sad time. Also thank you to all the nurses and staff at Alive Hospice for all the care and support during this difficult time. A visitation will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 1729 Stop Thirty Rd Hendersonville, TN on Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:00pm. There will be a private graveside service on Friday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alive Hospice, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, or St Joseph Catholic School in Madison, TN.
