Josephine Trigg Pearce, age 98, of White House, TN passed away peacefully November 25, 2022 at White House Health Care. She was born in Giles County, Tennessee, June 26, 1924 the daughter of Claude Odell Trigg and Fannie Pearl Massey Trigg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald (Ronny) Eugene Pearce, Sr., sister, Mary Evelyn Johnson, brother, Claude Odell Trigg, Jr, grandson, Billy Pearce and great grandson, J. R. Pearce. Ms. Pearce is survived by her, daughter in law, Cathy Pearce, Portland, TN; very loved grandsons and their wives, Ronny, Jr. and Je’nice Pearce, Shelbyville, IL, and Brad and Chellie Pearce, Springfield, TN; 7 cherished great grandchildren, Amelia (Rob) Bacon, William (Alyssa) Pearce, Blake (Emily) Pearce, Colin Pearce, Chad Pearce, Lauren Pearce, & Brandon Pearce; 6 precious great great grandchildren, Karleigh, Elliott, Sterling, Payton, Parker, and Knox.
When she was 18 years old she worked as part of the “Rosie the Riveters” during World War II at Tennessee Aircraft in Nashville. She considered this one of her proudest accomplishments. After completing that work assignment when the war slowed down, she began her career as a secretary and bookkeeper. This career spanned many years including, working for Simmons Glass Company for 20 years, followed by working for Pearce Diesel Repair Shop for 10 years before her retirement. Ms. Josephine was always busy. She loved to knit and crochet and taught many friends and caregivers her skills as well. She made all her family members blankets, including the most recent great great grandson born just 7 months ago. These are all very cherished by her family. She loved her son Ronny and his family with a great passion. When Ronny died in March 2022, it was very difficult for her. She never felt he would die before her. She endured a lot of hardships in her life, but these events made her a very strong and determined woman. She was a long-time member of Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she also loved and cherished her church family. She was a member of the ladies Circle 2 and the Fidelis Sunday School class.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 6:00 PM at Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 226 S. Main St., Goodlettsville, TN 37072 with Pastor Tim Stutler officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 to 6:00 PM prior to the service.
The Pearce family would like to express their appreciation to White House Healthcare and Adoration Hospice for their kind and thoughtful care of their Mema/Granny. The family suggests donations may be made “In Memory of Josephine Pearce” to the ALS charitable foundation, www.ALS.org .
