Maybelle Fite

May was reunited with her beloved husband Norm on May 11, 2023.  She was born the second of nine children to Boyd & Nettie Fish in Elmira, NY on January 14, 1935.  She attended Watkins Glen High School, Watkins Glen, NY.  She retired as a chef at the Buccaneer Restaurant, Batavia, NY.  In 1999 she and her husband moved from Batavia, NY to Old Hickory, TN where she lived until her death. May was a devoted animal lover and cared for several feral kitties.

May is survived by sisters, Nancy Van Horn of Old Hickory, TN, Norma Chatman of Willis, TX; Donna Woods (Allen) of Seymour, TN, and brother Jack Fish (Peggy Tabor) of Burdett, NY.  Also surviving are stepchildren Norma Fite and Gina Fite of Columbia, MO, Scott Fite of Daytona, FL, Scoot Fite of Texas, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Norman Fite; sisters Janet Gregory of Phoenix, AZ, Roberta Brittle of Port Charlotte, FL; brother Robert Fish of Beaver Dams, NY.  She is also predeceased by stepchildren Kim Fite of Columbia, MO and Greg Fite of Rochester, NY. 

She will be interred with her husband at the Nashville National Cemetery, 1420 Gallatin Rd. South, Madison, TN. 37115, at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 25, 2023.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
